Every year the Concourse Club of Palmerton hosts its Basket Spectacular. The baskets are indeed spectacular, filled with amazing items. There is a basket for everyone from children to men and to women. It is the club's largest fundraiser of the year and all proceeds go to Palmerton organizations.

This year the Basket Spectacular raised $7,600.

"It was down a little from last year, but it was still a great turnout," said Marge Federanich, Concourse Club's co-chair of the Ways and Means Committee.

On Tuesday, May 22, the Concourse Club presented donations to 19 various Palmerton organizations. They were: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church; Palmerton Area Library; Palmerton Memorial Park; Domestic Violence; Palmerton Area Historical Society; CACPAC; Palmerton Fire Co.; Aquashicola Fire Co.; Towamensing Fire Co.; Bowmanstown Fire Co.; Palmerton Area Recreation Association; Palmerton Band; St. Vincent DePaul; Special Olympics; Breast Cancer Research; PA Breast Cancer Coalition; Lehigh Gap Nature Center; Band Concerts; Meals on Wheels.

"On behalf of all of us, we appreciate all that you do for us," said Larry Arner, manager of Palmerton Memorial Park.

"You are all deserving," said Federanich.
