Four persons were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the entrance to a Schuylkill County mall. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred about 10:49 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, along SR61 at the entrance to the Cressona Mall, in North Manheim Township.
Troopers said Todd Moyer, 25, of Schuylkill Haven, operating a 1993 Ford Ranger pickup truck, was southbound in the left lane when he failed to observe a steady red light at the intersection.
Moyer traveled into the intersection with the front end of his truck striking the left side of a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Kay Fago, 64, of Schuylkill Haven, who was attempting to turn into the mall.
Moyer sustained facial injuries. His passenger, Steven Bigger, 50, of Port Carbon, had face and neck injuries, and Fago had moderate injuries. They were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Another passenger with Fago, Jennifer Fago, 34, of Schuylkill Haven, had minor injuries. A second passenger, Melissa Fago, 37, of Schuylkill Haven, was not injured.
Damages were termed major to the Cruze and moderate to the Ranger. Troopers said charges are pending against Moyer.
Troopers also investigated a crash about 12:31 p.m. on Thursday at 321 E. Second Mountain Road, in North Manheim Township. Troopers said a 16-year-old female from Cressona, driving a 2005 Mazda Tribute, was eastbound when she failed to negotiate a right curve. She lost control of the vehicle, which went onto the shoulder and struck an embankment.
The impact caused the vehicle to roll over back across the road before coming to rest on its wheels in the front yard of the above stated address.
The teen was not injured but her vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
