Man facing sexual assault charge

A Summit Hill resident is facing a charge of statuary sexual assault and related counts.

Summit Hill police identified the suspect as Nicholas Sergi, 18.

According to police at 7:05 p.m. June 2 the mother of a 13-year-old girl told police that her daughter had consensual sexual intercourse with a 19-year-old man. The girl told officers on May 23 she met with Sergi in the borough about 3 p.m. and were hanging out at Ginder Field. They entered the woods adjacent to the park to have sex. A second encounter occurred on May 27 in a wooded area commonly known as “flats.”

On June 6 Sergi was interviewed by police and provided a written statement admitting to the allegations.

Sergi was arraigned before District Judge Casimir T. Kosciolek, of Lansford, on two counts each of statutory sexual assault (victim less than 16 years of age) and corruption of minors. He was released on his own recognizance.
