The Carbon County Senior Expo will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall, 101 E. 10th St., Jim Thorpe.

The expo is being hosted by State Representative Doyle Heffley and State Senators David Argall and John Yudichak.

"Each year I look forward to working together with my fellow Carbon County lawmakers to put on a large and beneficial expo for our local seniors to enjoy," said Heffley. "By joining forces with Senators Yudichak and Argall, we're able to save money and host a much larger event with more to offer to our seniors."

This year's event will feature a variety of exhibitors from local, county and state agencies to inform seniors on types of services available to assist them. Attendance is free and open to the public, and a free lunch will be served.

Vendors will include government agencies, health and nursing care facilities, consumer protection agencies, independent living services, safety awareness organizations, and other groups that help and assist the region's senior citizens.

"I am pleased to team up with Senator Yudichak and Representative Heffley to provide an informative event for Carbon County's senior citizens," said Argall. "Our offices are glad to help senior citizens who require assistance or have questions about programs that are available through the state."

Yudichak also said he looks forward to co-hosting this special event each year, which draws thousands of attendees.

"I know many senior citizens look forward to the Senior Expo as evidenced by thethousands who attend every year," said Yudichak. "We are able to showcase what is available for seniors and offer easy access to many of the programs and services."
