Man waives 5 drug-related hearings

A Connecticut man remains lodged in the Schuylkill County prison, Pottsville, following multiple preliminary hearings before District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua.

Gilberto Luis Rodriguez, 34, of Bridgeport, was scheduled to have five hearings before the district judge and elected to waive his right to all of them. The charges in all cases were drug related, stemming from incidents in March and April, with charges filed by Tamaqua Patrolmen Anthony Stanell and Thomas Rodgers.Charges include possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and criminal use of a communication facility.Rodriguez was unable to post the required bail, which totaled $130,000.Tyler Joseph Kline, 19, of 410 Washington St., Tamaqua, waived a hearing on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance stemming from an incident on June 5. Charges of simple assault, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property were withdrawn at the victims' requests.Kline posted the required 10 percent of the imposed $15,000 bail.Gilbert Rolon, 24, of 248 E. Patterson St., Lansford, waived a hearing on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness from an incident on Dec. 17, 2011. The charges were filed by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Rodgers.Bail was modified from straight $25,000 to 10 percent of $25,000.Angelica Wetzel, 23, of236 N. Center St., Frackville, waived a hearing on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) of a controlled substance and driving without rear lights, while a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was withdrawn. The charges stem from an April 8 incident and were filed by Rush Township Patrolman Adam Sinton.She was released on her own recognizance.Robert G. Anguish of Penn Street, Tamaqua, waived a hearing on charges of fleeing/eluding police, careless driving, driving with a suspended/revoked license, and failure to drive at a safe speed. Charges of escape and resisting arrest were withdrawn by Tamaqua Patrolman Joseph Krebs. The incident occurred on June 22.Anguish was returned to the county prison, unable to post the required $50,000 bail.Kelly Gabrielle Bredamus, 43, of 424 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, waived her hearing on charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property, and criminal attempt to commit retail theft. She was charged by Tamaqua Patrolman Karl Harig following a Jan. 29 incident.She was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.Bredamus also faced charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property filed by Rush Township Patrolman Carl Bachart. She also waived a hearing on those charges and was released on $10,000 unsecured bailDuane Roy Allen II, 24, of 118 N. Railroad St., Tamaqua, will face court trial after waiving a hearing on charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. The charges were filed by Tamaqua Patrolman Matthew Houser and stem from a May 11 incident.Allen was released on his own recognizance.Andrea L. Canzoneri, 32, of 6 W. Marconi Ave., Nesquehoning, waived a charge of acquiring/obtaining possession of a controlled substance by misrepresentation. The charge was filed by Tamaqua Patrolman Michael Hobbs following a May 30 incident.She was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.Jennifer Miller, 31, of 205 Chestnut St., Tuscarora, waived a hearing on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended/revoked license, and failure to keep right. The charges stem from a March 26 incident and were filed by Rush Township Patrolman Adam Sinton.She was released on her own recognizance.Eric Tyler Culpepper, 26, of 45 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, had multiple charges against him withdrawn by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Rodgers. The charges were related to a June 7 incident.
