Schuylkill break-ins are probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating two burglaries that occurred at Schuylkill County locations.

Troopers said a residence at 19 S. Crescent St., Tremont, was entered. Entry was gained through an unlocked back door.Once inside the criminals removed an Eastern Mountain supply jacket, Quaker Oats old fashioned oatmeal, Quaker Oats instant oatmeal variety pack, three bottles of wine form the refrigerator, about $100 in cash, about $20 in dimes, four wrist watches (three gold and one silver, self-widing) and two rings (one silver and one Mexican silver with turquoise stone).The listed victims are Harold L. Brown, 95, of Tremont, and Thomas J. Dissinger, 67, of Holtwood, Lancaster County.The break-in occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, and 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.The second entry occurred at 1946 Wynonah Drive, Wayne Township. The criminals arrived on scene and removed a ladder from inside a shed on the property.They used the ladder to gain entry through an unlocked second floor window on the east side of the home. While inside the home the criminals drank a bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey along with a bottle of Johnnie Walker blue whiskey.After drinking the whiskey the criminals fled the scene. The listed victim is Craig M. Covell, 45, of Northampton. The incident occurred sometime between Jan. 21 and 28.Anyone with information concerning either incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 593-2000.
