The Northern Lehigh matmen picked up four wins at the Buckley Duals this weekend while the Weatherly boys and Northwestern girls both suffered last-second losses on the hardwoods.

BOYS BASKETBALL

MMI Prep-Weatherly

The Wreckers held a slim four-point lead going into the fourth, but MMI rallied for a 41-39 non-league victory.

MMI was led in scoring by Cory Rogers and Alex VanHoeken with 10 points apiece.

The Wreckers received a team-high 11 from Samson Walton and eight from Brett Stallone.

Northwestern-Emmaus

Facing off against perennially-tough Emmaus, Northwestern dropped a tough 38-37 non-league decision.

Sara Jones led the Tigers with 12 points. Sarah Segan added 11.

Emmaus got 11 from Sandra Gee.

WRESTLING

Northern Lehigh at Buckley Duals

Northern Lehigh finished 4-1 on the day at the Buckley Duals competition in Haverford.

The Bulldogs defeated everyone they faced, before dropping a 49-30 decision to Radnor. The victories came against Lower Merion, Haverford, Central (Philadelphia), and Harriton.

Kyle Schomp had the most impressive individual showing, finishing 5-0 with four pins. Ty Herzog was also unblemished at 3-0.

Three 'Dawgs Zach Leiby, Cody Bowman and Kyle Greenawald were 4-1 with three pins.

Lehighton at

Bellefonte Duals

Lehighton went 2-3 over the weekend at the Bellefonte Varisty Duals.

The Indians gained wins over Quakertown and Pius X, but dropped decisions to Downingtown West, Central Mountain and host Bellefonte.

Four Lehighton wrestlers posted 4-1 record in their matches. They were Jake Hoats, Anthony Farole, Zach Coleman and Mike Balliet.
