A New Tripoli man has been charged by state police at the Fogelsville barracks with simple assault and harassment after an altercation he had Jan. 18 at 10:30 p.m. with an Orefield woman.
Police said Ross T. Glabis was taken into custody on Jan. 19 on charges relating to the incident that took place in the 7800 block of Calsusville Road in Orefield, Lowhill Township.
Police said Glabis and the victim became involved in a verbal argument while in the defendant's vehicle, at which time Glabis pulled the victim's hair, causing numerous strands to be pulled out. Police said he bit the middle and ring finger of the victim's right hand, breaking the skin, and placed his arms around her neck, choking her two times. Police said the man then bit the left hand of the victim, causing the skin on her index finger to break. He struck the woman three times with a closed fist, striking her in the stomach and side and pushed her numerous times, leaving bruises on her lower back.
