After re-electing all officers at its reorganization meeting Wednesday in the Pottsville courthouse, the Schuylkill County Planning Commission acted on a number of subdivision plans.

Serving one-year terms on the board will be Gary Bender, chairman; Charles Ross, vice chairman and James Setlock, secretary.

After reviewing a subdivision plan submitted by the West Penn Township Planning Commission, the county board found the plan complied with the comprehensive land use and returned the plans without comment for action by the municipal board.

The minor subdivision plan of Blue Mountain Christian Center Church in West Penn Township seeks boundary line adjustments on lots being sold to Robert D. and Margaret H. Miller, of New Ringgold. The lots are 11.665 acres, 7.572 acres, 3.606 acres and 11.339 acres.

The commission gave conditional approvals to two subdivision plans. Porter-Tower Joint Municipal Authority which seeks to upgrade its wastewater treatment plant on 6.2743 acres located partly in Porter Township, Schuylkill County, and Williams Township in Dauphin County and the plan of Carl J. Krause, Washington Township, to create one lot containing 2.66 acres for a single family residents.

Park improvement

East Brunswick Township has notified the county planning commission it received a Community Conservation Partnership Program grant award from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in the amount of $40,000 and intends to construct a walking trail, pavilion and a handicap parking area at the East Brunswick Township Park.

The board reviewed a number of projects and had no comment. They were:

Ultimate Energy Inc., Ryan Solar Farm, Ryan Township, located southside of Barnesvile Road, approximately 1,200 feet east of Williams Street, submitted an application for a NPDES (National Pollution Discharge Elimination System) permit for stormwater discharges associated with construction of a 3 MW Solar Farm and tie into PPL power grid.

Eagle Rock Resort Company's for its East Union Township Development, is seeking a joint permit for stream crossing for its project in the Hidden Forest Phase 2 Subdivision.

The Bureau of Mine Reclamation of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP), plans to backfill hazardous strip pits in Oneida West, East Union Township and in North Union Township.

Broad Mountain Development Company, LLC, West Mahanoy Township, is seeking renewal of its NPDES permit for a stormwater discharge associated with construction activities for the West Mahanoy Wind Farm to include the construction of eight wind mills and electric substation and tie into an existing power grid.
