A Lehighton woman is facing charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), following an incident that occurred on Dec. 21, 2011, in the 200 block of N. First St.

Borough police said Jennifer Laudenslager, 39, of 243 N. Second St., has been charged with DUI, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and failing to utilize a proper child restraint system in a vehicle.

Police responded to the scene and found Laudenslager slumped over the wheel of her vehicle with two seven-year-old children unsecured and climbing throughout the interior of the vehicle. Given a test, the result was .29BAC.

She was arraigned before District Judge Edward Lewis, of Jim Thorpe, and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning, in lieu of $3,000 bail.
