Franklin Township board of supervisors reorganized Tuesday with most appointments remaining the same.

The only major change was that the Law Offices of Attorney William Schwab will replace Nanovic Law Offices as the township's solicitor.Rod Green will remain chairman, while Paul Kocher will continue to serve as vice chairman.Sandra Gaumer was reappointed township treasurer and Brenda Neeb will continue as assistant secretary-treasurer.Attorney Jenny Cheng was renamed solicitor of the zoning hearing board.Matthew Neeb was retained as the zoning officer and BOCA property maintenance code enforcement officer.Carl Faust of Blue Mountain Inspection Service will continue as the Uniform Construction Code office and BOCA Property Maintenance Code Enforcement officer.Sean Corey of Spotts, Stevens and McCoy was reappointed sewage enforcement officer and Scott Bieber was reappointed sewage enforcement officer.Supervisors retained ARRO Consulting Inc. as the township engineer for sewage and also retained Ron Tirpak of Carbon Engineering as township engineer for general purposes.Larry Diehl will continue as the emergency management coordinator.Charles Fritz will continue to serve as the vacancy board member. Fritz was also retained to serve as a five year member of the planning commission.Fred Bresswein was retained as a three-year member of the zoning hearing board.Thomas Beltz was reappointed as the open records officer of the Franklin Township Police Department and Sandra Gaumer was retained as the open records officer of the Franklin Township Administrative Office. Brenda Neeb was appointed as the alternate open records officer.The Carbon County Tax Committee representatives were reappointed, Paul Kocher as primary; and Brenda Neeb as alternate, for a one-year term.Dr. John DeMatte was renamed to the municipal authority for a five-year term.Named for a two-year term to the Property Maintenance Appeals Board were Willard Ahner, Dr. John DeMatte, Eric Markell, Vince Gilotti and Gail Maholick.Art Berger will continue as a representative to the Carbon County Solid Waste Advisory committee.Brenda Neeb was reappointed to the Franklin Township Advisory Recreation and Parks Board for a five-year term.Dennis Bauchspies was reappointed to the Lehigh Canal Recreation Commission.Thomas Beltz will remain as police chief.Robin Cressley will stay as road master and road foreman.Brenda Neeb and Sandra Gaumer were reappointed as Local Services Tax Collectors.Rod Green was renamed chief administrative officer for nonuniformed pension plan and chief administrative officer of the Police Pension Plan by resolution. The bond for the board of supervisors as trustees of the Franklin Township Police Pension Plan was set at $500,000.Paul Kocher was appointed as the delegate to the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors annual Education Conference to be held May 6 through May 9 in Hershey.Jim Thorpe National Bank and PLGIT were retained for checking and savings accounts.The board set the dates of township meetings as the third Tuesday of each month, except for January, when it was held Jan. 3. There will not be a meeting on Jan. 17.The board approved the prepayment of bills by the secretary-treasurer.All employees were retained with a raise of 3 percent.The board set the hourly rate of pay $16.97 for supervisors when assisting the road crew.The board adopted the rate of 55 1/2 cents per mile for travel allowance of personal vehicles for township business.The board also adopted a resolution appointing Buckno Lisicky and Co. to perform audits replacing elected auditors.The board also approved the per capita exoneration list provided by Sara Keiser, tax collector.The board approved to have the 2012 tax duplicate computed by Optimal Employer Solutions.
