State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Carbon County roadways.

A crash occurred about noon on Friday, Feb. 17, along SR248 in Bowmanstown. Troopers said Norman Smith, 21, of Palmerton, was driving a 1997 Toyota Celica eastbound when he failed to negotiate a left curve. The vehicle left the road and struck a guard rail. Smith was not injured.

Another crash occurred on Friday about 12:38 p.m. along Strohl Valley Road, in Towamensing Township. Troopers said Nathan T. Haydt, 19, of Palmerton, was driving a 1990 Ford Ranger pickup truck northbound when he failed to negotiate a right curve. The truck left the road and struck a utility pole on the east shoulder.

Haydt was not injured. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

A hit and run crash was reported about 5:55 p.m. on Friday along Pine Run Road in Towamensing Township. Troopers said Christine E. Campbell, 44, of Lehighton, was driving a 2003 Toyota Avalon northbound when a driver behind her attempted to pass her. The other vehicle struck the left side of the Avalon. The other driver then fled the scene.

Campbell was not injured. The hit and run vehicle was described as being a Ford Taurus, troopers said.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 8:50 p.m. on Feb. 14 along Covered Bridge Road, in Lower Towamensing Township. Troopers said Ronald Joseph Kanter, 66, of Albrightsville, was at the above location when his vehicle struck the bridge with the right front.

No injuries were reported.
