State police at Fern Ridge reported on several crashes investigated by troopers on area roadways.

A two vehicle crash occurred about 8:37 p.m. on Feb. 8 at the intersection of SR903 and Towamensing Trail, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Dianna M. Fritz, 51, of Pocono Lake, operating a 2004 Dodge Neon, and was merging onto 903 when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a 1998 Dodge Durango driven by Stella M. Surowitz, 53, of Albrightsville.

Fritz was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center (PMC), East Stroudsburg, by Lehighton EMS unit. Damages were minor to the vehicles. Troopers cited Skurowitz for following too closely.

A one vehicle crash was reported at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, along SR903 in Penn Forest Township. Troopers said Lorra M. Jaskot, 45, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder southbound when it left the roadway while negotiating a slight left curve and went down a slight embankment. The front end struck a tree where it came to rest. Jaskot and passengers Amy Jaskot, 15, of Jim Thorpe, and Kurt Barthel, 17, of Albrightsville, were all not injured.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, along Sugarhollow Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Samantha J. Smith, 23, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2005 Mercury Sable westbound when she drove off the road and struck a tree with the front right end. She then attempted to re-enter the road which caused the Sable to spin counter-clockwise 90-degrees. The rear right fender struck a second tree which caused the Sable to overturn on the north side.

Smith and passenger, Devin M. Cawley, 24, of Brodheadsville, were not injured. Smith was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic, troopers said.

A one vehicle crash was reported at 6:25 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, along Stony Mountain Road, in Penn Forest Township. Troopers said Stuart M. Green, 45, of Jim Thorpe, was operating a 2008 Toyota Corolla eastbound when he lost control while traveling too fast and a deer ran onto the road in front of him.

The Corolla traveled across the road and struck a ditch with the front end which caused the vehicle to overturn.

Green was not injured. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Troopers investigated a rear-end type crash about 7:50 p.m. on Feb. 6 along SR209 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said a 2008 Ford Edge operated by Amy L. Vanbuskirk, 40, of Sciota, rear-ended a 2005 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Eric L. Zorn, 19, of Effort, which was pushed into another vehicle, whose driver fled the scene.

No one was injured. Troopers cited Vanbuskirk for following too closely.

A two vehicle crash occurred about 7:25 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, along SR715 at the intersection with Possinger Drive, in Jackson Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Sandra A. Hoyos, 43, of Reeders, driving a 1988 Toyota Camry, attempted to enter 715, initially stopped at a stop sign on Possinger Drive, but then pulled out with her vehicle being struck by a 1999 Ford Ecoline van driven by Michael F. Benincasa, 31, of Albrightsville.

Hoyos and her passenger, John W. Cook, 52, of Stroudsburg, and Benincasa, were all not injured.

Troopers investigated a one vehicle crash about 8:18 a.m. on Friday along SR115 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Stephanie E. Smith, 37, of Tobyhanna, was driving a 2002 Dodge Stratus southbound when she drove off the road and struck a tree. The vehicle then re-entered the road and came to rest in the southbound lane facing south.

Smith was not injured. She was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
