Tamaqua woman facing drug counts

A Tamaqua woman has been cited after an incident on May 2.

Tamaqua police were conducting a warrant sweep rounding up defendants suspected of drug-related charges. Officers went to 219 N. Lehigh St. at 7:30 a.m., looking for one of the suspects. They were met by Melanie Dawn Delowery, 27, who said she was the only one at home.Other officers, who were watching the perimeter of the home, saw a male exit a second-story window and attempt to escape by way of the roof. He was apprehended and identified as Keith Cover, who was wanted on a warrant issued by Bucks County authorities.After speaking to the officers, Delowery admitted to having a bag of "spice" under her bed on the third floor. A homemade pipe was found along with the drugs.She was cited for possession of a controlled substance (synthetic marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.
