Tuesday evening, the community of Nesquehoning was again the target of an armed robbery, the latest in a string of similar crimes that have struck our area recently.
A little after 6 p.m. yesterday, an unidentified white male ran off with an unknown amount of cash after showing a female cashier a knife, then reaching in and grabbing money from her register at the Redner's Warehouse Market.
This is the fifth armed robbery in less than two weeks. Police Chief Sean Smith, who spent a couple hours in the store with other officers studying the store's surveillance footage, described the unmasked robber as being a white male, five-feet, 10-inches to 11-inches tall, with an above average or heavy build, wearing a black T-shirt under a blue and white plaid long sleeve shirt, a white cap with two stripes on one side and unkn
