The Jim Thorpe Area School Board held it's re-organization for the upcoming new year.

Dr. Clement McGinley was renamed president of the board.Re-elected vice president was Rich Schaninger.Attorney Greg Mousseau was reappointed solicitor.The board named Thomas Henry as the member of the Joint Operating Committee of Carbon Career and Technical Institute (CCTI) representing the Jim Thorpe Area School District. The term of office will be for three years. Gerald Strubinger will serve as the alternate representative for one year.The following meeting dates were approved for 2013:• The regular board meetings will be held the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. Executive sessions, if needed, will be held at 6 p.m. The board meetings held on the odd months will be held at the district office and the board meetings held on the even months will be held at the Penn Kidder Campus.• Committee meetings will be held the first and last Mondays and the third Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m in the district office. The committee meeting on the last Monday of the month may be used for a regular board meeting if needed.In other news, the board approved the change of location for the December 17 regular board meeting at 7 p.m. The meeting will now be held at the district office.
