The halls of Franklin Elementary were alive with the sounds of Christmas music Tuesday morning.
During the school's annual Christmas program, entitled "Christmas Memories," the third- and fourth-grade students treated their peers, teachers and family to a trip into their childhood through a variety of songs and poems. The event was directed by Susan D. Stufflet.
Between songs, a number of students spoke, reciting poetry that fit with the musical selections for the day.
Songs included A Holly Jolly Christmas; It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas; The Day We Decorate Our Christmas Tree; Christmas Mem'ries; Hear The Good News; A Caroling We Go Medley; Child of God; and A New Year's Wish.
Soloists Michael Yeakel, and Abigail Buffington led their class in Do You Hear What I Hear; while Dakota Stadtmueller and Carissa Giniewski led the song Christmas Comes From The Heart.
Special chime ensembles were performed by members of the fourth grade class, including the songs Silver and Gold; Hear We Go A-Caroling; and Angels From The Realms of Glory.
The students also asked for audience participation in the singing of traditional carols Joy To The World, Hark The Herald Angels Sing; and Silent Night.
Another special holiday, Hanukkah, which is occurring right now, was incorporated into the third grade's performance.
Students sang Hanukkah's Child; Light The Festive Candles; Hanukkah Time; Hanukkah Comes; and Holiday Wishes.
