A Schuylkill County teen fell asleep at the wheel of her car and crashed Friday, Dec. 7, early in the morning.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Erica Bertasavage, 18, of Auburn, was driving a 1995 Subaru Impreza eastbound on SR443 in Pine Grove Township, about 2:50 a.m., when she fell asleep. The car crossed into the westbound lane and onto the north berm. After entering the berm the car impacted with a utility pole with the right front, sheering off the pole.The car came to rest on its drivers' side facing east.Bertasavage sustained minor injures in the crash and was treated at the scene. The vehicle had to be towed.
