The Pocono District of Penn State Extension, which covers Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties, will hold a free webinar workshop "Technology Tuesdays: Compost Bedded Pack Barns" that is designed for dairy producers, their employees and advisers. The workshop will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m., on Dec. 11.

Learn what it takes to design and manage a successful compost bedded pack for milking cows. Topics will include area requirements, the need for aeration, and managing the composting process. The workshop will be presented by Dr. Jeffrey Bewley and Dr. Joseph Taraba from the University of Kentucky.
