Nesquehoning citations issued

Nesquehoning police reported on two arrests and several citations issued by officers.

On Saturday, March 20, about 2:10 p.m. Chief Sean Smith was dispatched to 342 W. Railroad St. for a report of a fight. Smith said Andrew Staehle, of 40 E. Catawissa St., allegedly punched Josh Beury in the head. Smith charged Staehle with two counts of harassment and one of disorderly conduct, all summary violations.On March 17 about 3:48 p.m. Officer Timothy Wuttke was called to a reported dog bite incident. As the result of an investigation Wuttke cited Charles Lopresto, 113 E. Garibaldi Ave., for confinement and housing of dogs. His dog was running loose and bit another dog and its owner, Wuttke said.Wuttke also issued two traffic citations. On March 17 for speeding, going 59 miles-per-hour in a 40 zone along SR209 and SR93. And on March 18 for a stop sign violation at the same intersection.Officer Carl Breiner issued a traffic citation on March 20 for a red light violation at SR209 and Mermon Ave.Smith issued two traffic citations: on March 19 speeding, 78 in a 55 zone, along SR93 at the rifle range and on March 20, speeding, 73 in a 40 zone on SR209 at SR93.
