Lehighton troopers probe burglary, thefts

State police at Lehighton reported on a burglary and several theft incidents being probed by troopers.

The break-in occurred at the residence of Albert Richard Samanns, 64, of 22 Deer Trail Rd., Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said entry was made sometime between 12:30 and 3 p.m. on Aug. 22. Troopers did not indicate if anything was taken.Troopers said Dwayne Robert Wieser, of Allentown, reported someone removed a lawn mower from 324 White St., Weissport. The theft occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Aug. 21 and 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 22.Troopers said a vehicle owned by Troy Kidd Jr., 22, of Palmerton, was entered while parked in a lot at the Blue Mountain Pub, at 3790 Forest Inn Rd., in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Entry was made through an open sunroof in the vehicle. Removed was a backpack containing miscellaneous items such as a thumb drive, text books, and sunglasses. Also taken was a Garmin GOPS unit. The incident was reported at 10:10 p.m. on Aug. 23.Christine Ann Dafcik, of 279 Church Rd., Kunkletown, Eldred Township, Monroe County, reported someone removed a deck box from her property sometime between 7:20 and 7:40 p.m. Aug. 24.Troopers said on Aug. 25 Raul A. Planes-Martinez, 41, of 791 Lizard Creek Rd., Lehighton, came to the barracks and reported that a dealer registration plate on his vehicle had either been stolen or fell off the vehicle. The plate number is J96353J.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 610-377-4270.
