The Zoo Crew's 14th annual "Zoostock" will be held on Labor Day on the grounds of the Sports Zoo/Halftime Sports Bar in Lansford.

Zoostock, which has live music throughout the day, is staged from noon to 8 p.m. and will be held rain or shine.

Organizers said those attending are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket. There will be food, beverages, entertainment, souvenir T-shirts and wristbands.

In addition, there will be activities for children.

This year's scheduled entertainment is: Jay Smar, Cody Sassaman, Colin Jones, Brad and Luke and the Jersey Cartwrights, The Brand, A.D.D., Toolshed Jack and Category 5. Ann Marie Calabrese of Coolbreeze Imaging and host of "Stuck in the '80s" on Magic 105.5 WMGH will serve as emcee.

Leading up to the big event are several other fundraisers.

There will be a kick off party held at the Sports Zoo/Halftime Sports bar on Thursday, Aug. 30.

There will be a live broadcast on Magic 105.5 WMGH from 6 until 10 p.m. with The Captain and the '80s Guru. It is tradition during this event to unveil the Zoostock T-shirt which will also be available for purchase that night.

On Friday, Aug. 31, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. there will be a "meet and greet" event at the bar where you can meet Gene Snisky, a professional wrestler who is the WXWC4 Champion and former WWE Superstar Gene Snisky. This event is prior to the Panther Valley vs. Mahanoy Area football game.

The free photo and autograph session will be available and all ages are welcome at the meet and greet.

The last event before the concert on Monday will be a professional wrestling show on Saturday, Sept. 1, from 5:30- 8:30 p.m. at Panther Valley High School.

The main event will have Snisky, a Panther Valley High School graduate, defend his WXWC4 Championship.

Tickets are available at the Sports Zoo/Halftime Sports Bar in Lansford or at Hiles Bros. in Summit Hill. After the match the wrestlers will be having a "meet and greet" back at the Sports Zoo/Halftime Sports Bar.

Proceeds from all events benefit the Carbon/Tamaqua Unit of the American Cancer Society.

Last year's combined Zoo Crew events total enabled the crew to present the ACS with $22,000 during the annual televised telethon.
