Marie and Lloyd Bollinger Sr. of Palmerton are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. They were married on Aug. 22, 1942 at the Episcopal Church in Aquashicola by Rev. Adams.

Marie is the daughter of the late Arthur and Blanche Schaffer of Aquashicola. Lloyd Sr. is the son of the late Jonas and Annie (Eckhart) Bollinger of Little Gap.Prior to their retirement, Lloyd Sr. was self-employed in his own construction/trucking business Bollinger Bros. Marie was employed for several years at the Palmerton Area High School as a member of the cafeteria staff.Lloyd Sr. and Marie are the parents of Lloyd Jr. and his wife, Patricia; and Connie, wife of Donald Holland; all of Palmerton.They have four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.The Bollingers are members of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Trachsville.
