New poultry owners, aspiring poultry owners, or those interested in exploring a new venture on a small scale basis are invited to participate in the ABC's of Raising Chickens, to be taught by Steve Hughes, ag educator with Penn State Extension.

The classes will be held on Thursdays starting Sept. 6 and running for four weeks through Sept. 27. The program will be held at the Monroe Extension office at 724 Phillips Street, Suite 201, Stroudsburg from 7-9 p.m.Topics that will be covered are breed identification, brooding and growing, production of eggs and meat, nutrition and health, housing facilities, equipment, fly control, biosecurity and resources.For more information contact the Extension office at (570) 421- 6430.
