Personnel changes approved

Carbon County Commissioners on Thursday approved the following personnel actions:

*Employment separation: Jillyan A. Sterling, Palmerton, part-time corrections officer, effective April 9;*Resignations: Brent R. Getz, Lehighton, part-time corrections officer, effective March 26; Anthony C. Petaccio, Jim Thorpe, part-time corrections officer, effective April 5; and Nicholas W. Knepper, Tamaqua, part-time corrections officer, effective April 10;*Hires: Deborah Craver, Weatherly, part-time K-9 officer, effective April 23; Jeffrey G. Steigerwalt, Lehighton, seasonal park maintenance, effective April 30;*Suspension without pay pending investigation: John T. Gablick, Jim Thorpe, effective April 18;*Leaves of absence: Corrections Kim M. Kostak, Tamaqua, from April 23 to Jan. 31, 2013; Parks Frederick L. Johnson, Summit Hill, from April 28 to Dec. 31;*Seminar/training requests: Child Care Agency employees Amy Rontz, Raegan Smith and Kim Wittig for the Northeast Regional Meeting and Policy Training in Scranton. They will be reimbursed for the costs of mileage and meals;Communications/EMA employees Justin Markell, Ray Bossard and county EMA Coordinator Mark Nalesnik for the Traffic Incident Management and Responder Safety Workshop in Stroudsburg. They will be reimbursed for the costs of mileage;Coroner's office employees Meri Jones, Gerald D. Jones Jr., Raymond Bossard, Robert W. Miller Jr., Philip J. Jeffries Jr., Harold C. Schisler and James Hauser for the Third Annual training Seminar in Medicolegal Investigations in Stroudsburg. The cost is $75 per person;Office of Economic Development employee Dawn Ferrante for the 2012 PEDA Spring Legislative Conference in Harrisburg. The conference cost is $325, plus lodging, mileage and meals;Workforce Training Investment Act employee Keith Ramsay for the Pennsylvania Partners 28th Annual Employment, Training and Education Conference in Hershey. The cost is a $395 conference fee, plus lodging, mileage and meals;Workforce Training employee Julie Walker to the same conference, at a cost of $355 for the conference fee, plus lodging, mileage and meals.
