Man hallucinates, enters residence; bath salts found

An Effort man, who police said consumed bath salts, began to hallucinate and entered a home in Monroe County on April 6.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said Bradley Jeremy Cole was taken into custody, processed for criminal charges and transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, to await arraignment.Police said the incident happened at 147 Lakeside Drive in Chestnuthill Township when the man entered the residence at 11:50 p.m., believing people were attacking him and shooting a gun at him.After forcing his way into parts of the residence, police said he barricaded himself in a children's playroom, where he destroyed the contents of the playroom and closet doors in the room.Police said he was carrying a samurai sword that he used to stab through a closet door.Upon arrival of police the man was uncooperative and was shocked with a taser while being taken into custody.Police said a search incident to the arrest revealed bath salts in both of the defendant's pockets.
