Lehighton'sMadison Brown selected asShoemaker-Haydt's 2012 Miss Poppy

Madison Brown, 8, daughter of Kerry and Floyd Brown of Lehighton, is the 2012 Miss Poppy, representing the Shoemaker-Haydt American Legion Unit 314 Auxiliary, Lehighton. She is also the granddaughter of Floyd Brown, Legion Post 314 commander.

Madison is a second-grade student at Franklin Elementary School. She plays soccer and is in the group, Mini Impact, at Dance With Kim.She is also a member of the Lehighton Knee-Hi track team.LaRue Fritz, Poppy chairman of Shoemaker-Haydt Auxiliary Unit 314 for the past 14 years, will accompany her as she offers poppies to the public. Fritz is also poppy chairman for Four County Council for 12 years. She is also second vice president of Unit 314.Donations for poppies will be accepted at the Carbon Plaza Mall on April 27 and 28 and May 3 and 4.Madison will represent the Shoemaker-Haydt American Legion Unit 314 Auxiliary, Lehighton during her reign.
