Panther Valley Public Library activities

The Panther Valley Public Library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, has a number of activities this month.

Preschool Story Time is every Tuesday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with Miss Dawn and Miss Nancy. Besides reading a story the children do craft projects and have snacks.Saturday, April 14, is the Book, Bake and Soup Sale.On April 16, 18, 23, and April 25, from 6-8 p.m., there will be Diabetes Educational Programs held at the library. These programs are sponsored by St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.The classes will be taught by Ms. Lauri Price, RN, and Ms. Jennifer Gross, RD. For more information, please contact Ms. Price at (570) 669-9868.On April 23, at 10 a.m., the library volunteers will be reading to the children at the Pathstone Headstart program in Coaldale.On March 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dr. Stephen Botek will be at the library for a book discussion and book signing. His book is entitled "Song on My Lips." (Jazz Greats were My Mentors).On April 30, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., ladies from Lansford Spectrum Manor will be treated to a game night at the library. The library is always looking for community helpers (volunteers).
