A Kelayres man is lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, after allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl in 2007. The case came to light recently when the victim, now 11 years old, reported the indecent contact to Kline Township Police.
Ted M. Vanderkarr, 40, of 3 Center St., Kelayres, was in the court of District Judge Stephen Bayer last week to answer to the charges, which were filed by Kline Chief of Police John Petrilla. Vanderkarr was charged with rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault of a child (less than 13), indecent assault of a person less than 13, corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children.
