Spring has officially arrived, heralding the return of the Tamaqua Borough street sweeper. Regular street cleaning operations will begin tomorrow, April 3, with streets posted the day before sweeping is scheduled.

This week's schedule will include: Tuesday, beginning at 7 a.m., Union, Market to end; Orwigsburg, Hunter to Coal; South Swatara, Mahanoy to Van Gelder; South Nescopec, Mahanoy to Van Gelder; Jerome, Washington to Swatara; Lombard, Rowe to Boyle Ave.; Laurel, East End Ave. to end.On Wednesday, starting at 7 a.m., the schedule includes: Market, Broad to Union; Spruce, Boyer's Market to end; High, Bowe to Stadium Hill; Clay, Pitt to Washington; Anderson, Lehigh to Lombard; West Elm, cemetery to N. Nescopec.Thursday's schedule will include: Penn, Hunter to Coal; Brown, Pitt to Nescopec; Clark, North to end; Greenwood, Mountain Ave. to end; Lehigh, Cottage Ave. to West Elm; Federal, East End Ave. to Mountain Ave.Drivers must remove their vehicles from posted streets and are reminded to wait until after operations are completed before moving their cars back to the cleaned streets. Vehicles that are not removed from posted streets are subject to ticketing and towing at the owner's expense.The schedule will be published periodically and operations will continue as needed.
