A popular exercise facility in Palmerton is under new ownership.
Located at 346 Delaware Avenue, the Palmerton Community Fitness Center is now family-run.
Taylor Knight serves as manager, while her mother, Janet Knight, is owner.
To commemorate the change in ownership, an open house will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
All ages are welcome. There will be a one-month membership give away, family packages and 3-month special. Food and drinks will be provided.
The family purchased the fitness center this past August, according to Taylor Knight.
Janet Knight, said she doesn't anticipate too many changes in store for the fitness center.
"We're going to be keeping it as it is," Janet Knight said. "We want to see if it keeps growing, and we hope to see it grow a lot."
Taylor said Zumba classes will be offered in the near future.
The fitness center features a plethora of equipment such as treadmills, bikes, rowers, dumbbells, ellipticals, StairMaster bikes, steppers, power rack, medicine balls, and strength training machines. It also has locker rooms with private showers.
It's open from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, and 7 a.m. to noon Sunday.
Anyone who would like to become members, or those with questions, may contact the fitness center at (610) 826-2300.
