Once again, last weekend, the Redball Military Transport Fall Military Vehicle Rally and Show brought history back to life at the West End Fairgrounds in Gilbert.

Whether for a youngster curious to see some of the vehicles that Grandpa may have told them about from his service days, or a veteran searching for memories, the rally did not disappoint.

A wide variety of military vehicles filled a large section of the parking area outside of the fairgrounds while inside there was just about every spare part for them that one could ever need.

Vendors had a vast variety of everything military such as : helmets, uniforms, radios, vehicle parts, nuts, bolts, lights, manuals, etc.

According to Gilbert Rally Director Jim Gilmore "in spite of the rain on Friday, we had a real good turnout and we had over 300 swap meet spots filled along with between 70 to 80 vehicles ranging from WWII to present day."

When not working on or displaying their vehicles, the members of Redball Military Transport Club participate in parades, reenactments and civic and Veterans events.

In addition to their annual September rally, they also host a Winter Swap Meet every February at Memorial Hall on West 10th street in Jim Thorpe.
