Lehighton man, two youths charged

One adult and two juveniles have been arrested by Lehighton police on charges relating to a fire on Sept. 17 at an apartment in the borough that police said is the result of arson.

David Leone, 21, of 149 S. Sixth St., Apt. C-16, Lehighton, and two boys, ages 14 and 17, also from Lehighton, were arrested.Leone was arraigned before District Justice Edward M. Lewis on five counts of arson, possession of explosive or incendiary material, criminal solicitation to commit arson and criminal conspiracy, and two counts of insurance fraud and corruption of minors.He was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, in lieu of $50,000 bail, pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for 4 p.m. Sept. 28 before Lewis.The 14-year-old boy has been charged with five counts of arson, causing or risking a catastrophe and criminal mischief while the 17-year-old boy is also facing five counts of the same charges as well as five counts of providing false information to law enforcement authorities.Police said the charges relate to the fire that happened at the Victory Estates apartments in the borough.
