A Jim Thorpe resident is facing drug charges.

Borough police said about 3:36 a.m .on Friday, July 22, officers on patrol observed a male slumped over in a chair on the porch at 117A Broadway. Police checked on the male for his safety and observed what appeared to be a marijuana pipe on his lap.The male was awoken and identified as Jahn P. Schafer, 30, of A2 Broadview Drive. Schafer was placed under arrest and a small bag of suspected marijuana was found to be in his possession. The contents of the bag later tested positive for marijuana.Schafer was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
