Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) and drug arrest made by officers.

On Saturday, Sept. 10, about 2:39 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle along Stoney Hollow Road for a headlight being out. The driver was identified as Alan Byron, 23, of Albrightsville. Officers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Byron. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Pocono Medical Center (PMC), East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, police said.

On Sunday, Sept. 11, at 2:19 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle along Hemlock Drive, in Tobyhanna, for a vehicle code violation. The driver was identified as Matthew Rampoa, 25, of Tobyhanna.

He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then taken to PMC for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, police added.

On Friday, Sept. 9, about 12:55 a.m. officers on patrol encountered a male walking along SR940 in Pocono Summit. The male was identified as Eric Stevens Jr., of Long Pond. While speaking with Stevens officers detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from him. A search of Stevens revealed drug paraphernalia. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia will be filed against Stevens, police said.
