Their creativity and showmanship have wowed families for several generations.
It all began at the then Route 45 Drive-In, with the first movie "UTAH", starring Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, shown on June 2, 1946.
Ever since then, Becky's Drive-In Theatre has been an institution at 4548 Lehigh Drive, along Route 248 in Walnutport.
This summer, the theater proudly celebrates its 65th anniversary, according to Cindy Deppe, who along with her sister Mary and brothers Darrell and Dennis, continue to operate the drive-in along with their families.
"I am pleased that we are still going strong after 65 years in business with the same family," Deppe said. "Our parents would be proud to know the drive-in is still being enjoyed by so many patrons."
Aside from the local area and Poconos, Deppe said patrons come from as far away as Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York.
"We receive many compliments by email telling us how much they enjoyed bringing their children and now their grandchildren to see a double feature at Becky's," she said. "Many came here when they were growing up with their parents and now bring their children and grandchildren."
For Deppe, the drive-in is all she has ever known.
