PEN ARGYL - About the only one having fun during Saturday's snowstorm was Pen Argyl's unbeaten football team.

The Green Knights (9-0), showing why they've been the talk of the Colonial League all season, had no problem keeping their footing on the white, slick Alumni Field they call home en route to a 52-0 win over Palmerton (4-5).As a matter of fact, Dylan Evans and Mikey Racciato, the two taking the snaps out of the single-wing formation head coach Paul Reduzzi made his game plan, scored three touchdowns apiece. The duo also combined for 304 yards rushing before giving way to the reserves early in the second half with the "Mercy Rule" in effect."They came out to play," said Palmerton head coach Chris Walkowiak. "With their six and the single-wing, we knew they were going to come out in it and they just took us off the ball and we didn't make tackles. (Dylan) Evans is a good runner. They made plays, we didn't."Racciato got things started as he raced 57 yards for his first touchdown with less than two minutes off the clock. He also ran in the two-point conversion to make it 8-0.With 7:49 left in the opening quarter, it was Evans' turn as he broke look on a 52-yard run for his first TD of the afternoon. Racciato again ran in for the two-point conversion and it was 16-0.The Green Knights recovered a fumble on Palmerton's first offensive play following the TD. Four plays later, Racciato found the end zone from four yards out, but the conversion failed keeping the Pen Argyl lead at 22-0.Michael DePaolo intercepted a pass to halt a Palmerton drive near the end of the first quarter and with 57 seconds left on the clock, it was Racciato again on a 50-yard run and Evans the two-point conversion to give Pen Argyl a 30-0 lead.The Green Knights still had one more score left in them before the second quarter, however, as Ryan Lobb recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and on their second play, Evans was headed to the end zone once again on a 40-yard run. Nick Oyer ran in the two-point conversion for the 38-0 lead.Evans didn't waste long once Pen Argyl took over again on its own 38 as he broke loose for a 62-yard TD. With 9:48 still left in the half, Racciato ran in the two-point conversion and it was 46-0 and that's how it stood at intermission.Palmertpn actually put together a 14-play drive with Alex Vignone doing moste of the ball carrying taking nine minutes off the clock, but the Bombers ran out of downs on the Pen Argyl 16.The Green Knights added one more score with 5:07 remaining in the game when Oyer scored on a 23 yard run setting the final score at 52-0."We moved the ball and then turned it over," said Walkowiak. "It was a repeat of what we did last week at Catasauqua. You can't do that against a very good team and they made us pay for it."We've got to dust ourself off, pick ourself up and come to play because Northern Lehigh is a very good team also if we want to end the season on a high note."Reduzzi said there was never any thought of postponing the game."No," he said when asked about the decision. "One this hit a little earlier than we thought, Two, we would have to deal with eight inches of snow tomorrow because they want mid 40's and 50 degrees. There was still footing out there on the field. With that melted tomorrow morning, and Monday's not a issue because what do you do. We don't have lights and we play Friday. So in myself and the AD's opinion, today was the way to go because once this melts it's going to be worse."
