Expected to attend the Weatherly Rotary Club's Meet the Candidates Night tonight are all of the candidates for Carbon County commissioner, sheriff and coroner. Candidates for other county row offices have been invited.

Doors for the event open in Weatherwood's employee dining room at 6 p.m., with county candidates beginning their speeches around 6:30. A meet and greet social will take place about 7:30. The session for local candidates will begin about 8 p.m. with candidates for Weatherly Borough Council, supervisors for Lehigh, Packer and Lausanne Township, Weatherly mayor and Weatherly Area School Board all invited, with most confirmed to attend. Candidates will speak for three minutes each.The event, hosted by the Weatherly Rotary Club, is co-sponsored by Guardian ElderCare and the Weatherly Area Community Library. Weatherwood is located on Evergreen Avenue in Weatherly, just off East Main Street. There is plenty of well-lighted parking, and easy handicap access.Refreshments will be available.
