A Monroe County man is facing multiple charges including rape.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Arturo Escobar, 28, of Tobyhanna, was arrested this week on a warrant at his place of employment in Hackensack, N.J., and jailed waiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.He has been charged with rape, criminal attempt-rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault and related offenses.According to police on Oct. 9 they received a report of a rape/sexual assault being perpetrated against two female girls, ages 17 and 15, at a residence in Tobyhanna. The incidents have been occurring since 2005.Through an investigation by PMRP additional information was developed that led to the charges against Escobar. A preliminary hearing will be scheduled in the case after Escobar is returned to Monroe, police added.
