+- trucks, dump trucks, tractor trailers, farm tractors and ladder trucks will all be part of the West Penn Fire Company's Touch-A-Truck show this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event, to be held at their fire house, 21 Municipal Road, encourages both children and adults to stop by, learn and enjoy all the different types of heavy duty trucks.

West Penn firefighter Kelly Boerner, event organizer, stated, "16 or more large truck apparatus will be staged in and around the firehouse for everyone to experience them up close." She added, "Bring the kids. Bring the cameras for the up front experience to sit in and experience the vehicles all children love."

During the event, which also consists of a craft show and festive food, visitors will be given the opportunity to ask questions and even sit inside some of the trucks. Trucks on hand will be from West Penn Fire Company, Tamaqua fire department, Penn Mahoning Ambulance, Ruchs Excavating, Gravers Tree Farm and Landscaping, Soley's Towing, Tamaqua Transfer and Recycling and more. Penn Star helicopter is also expected to land and take off during the event.

In addition to all the large trucks, children will receive a visit from Smokey the Bear as part of National Fire Prevention month.

If you have a large truck you want to show off or for more information about the show, visit the fire company on Facebook or call Boerner at (570) 778-6047. Ed Boerner, volunteer firefighter, said "All proceeds benefit the West Penn Fire Company." Boerner added, "This is a great community event for the whole family to enjoy on a very nice day."
