The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that Walsh Construction will be establishing bi-directional single-lane patterns on Route 248 Thursday, Oct. 6, and Friday, Oct. 7, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The lane closures are for the protection of traffic during overhead bridge work on the new Lehigh River Bridge.

Construction crews will establish single lane patterns eastbound and westbound, closing the right lane and shoulder on Thursday and the left lane and shoulder on Friday from 7 a.m. until the patterns are lifted by 5 p.m.

The single-lane patterns are approximately mile long between State Street and Center Street on Route 248 in Parryville and motorists should be prepared for slow-moving or stopped traffic when approaching the area. Obey posted speed limits and stay alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway. All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
