Two highly esteemed local authors will visit the Palmerton Area Library later this month

On Friday Oct. 21 at 11 a.m., Paul Sheckler will present a book talk about his newly released book "The Hawk Knows".

Sheckler's new book is about a Navajo couple who strive to live the American dream as they cope with promise and tragedy. There is beauty and the lingering pain from war in Iraq, which both climax on the Reservation.

Copies of the book signed by Sheckler will be available.

The piece is the second book of fiction written by Sheckler. In 2008, he penned "Come Back", and has also written six poetry books.

Sheckler, who currently resides with his family in California, was raised in Palmerton, and received his B.A. degree in Journalism at Penn State University.

Then, on Saturday Oct. 29, from 11-1 p.m., Autumn Jordon will be at the library for a meet and greet for her new release "In the Presence of Evil".

Jordon received acclaim after she won the 2010 Golden Leaf Winner for "Best First Book", and romance Writers of America 2009 Golden Heart Finalist.

A quiet nut who has earned the title of "trouble" by her family and friends, life is never dull in her valley surrounded by the beautiful Blue Mountains of northeast Pennsylvania.

Armed with a long list of hobbies, Jordon keeps busy while she dreams up ideas to put her very believable characters of her romantic suspense novels in grave danger.
