State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating two crashes along SR61 in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said a two vehicle crash occurred about 6:25 p.m. on Sept. 29 in West Brunswick Township, at the intersection with Pine St. Leianne C. Phillips, 60, of Hamburg, was westbound on Pine, stopped for a stop sign at the intersection with 61, while Josh Halaburda, 18, of Schuylkill Haven, was southbound.

Phillips attempted to make a left turn onto 61 and her 1987 Jeep Wrangler was struck by Halaburda's 1996 Jeep Cherokee. After impact the Wrangler spun in a clockwise direction and traveled through both southbound lanes before going onto the berm where it came to rest. The Cherokee came to rest at the point of impact.

No one was injured.

The second crash occurred about 3 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, also in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Madeline Bradley, 20, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2005 Nissan Sentra northbound and encountered several large boulders that had fallen onto the road from the nearby mountainside.

Bradley did not see the boulders and struck one that was laying in the right lane. The undercarriage of the Sentra sustained disabling damages.

Bradley and her passenger, Alice Currie, 21, of Mt. Carmel, were both not injured.
