Ten area residents were among 33 who were qualified by District Attorney James P. Goodman to be admitted into the Accelerated Rehabilated Disposition (ARD) probation program.

Senior Judge D. Michael Stine admitted them into the program at a hearing held in Schuylkill County court and imposed conditions. The program is only for first offenders involved in non-violent crimes. If they complete all conditions imposed their record is wiped clean.

All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted:

Barry Lee Bridygham, 21, of 131 W. Union St., Tamaqua, on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkeness brought by Tamaqua Patrolman Matthew Bynon, was assessed $350 to defray cost of the program, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), $50 to MCare, $25 to Emergency Management System (EMS), and $200 in fines.

Jane Dolores Hanzarik, 52, of Majestic House, Apt. 3-J, 201 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, on a charge of driving under influence (DUI) of alcohol, was asssessed $500 to defray cost of program, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to CJEA , $50 to MCare, $25 to EMS, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, perform 10 hours community service and driver's license suspended 60 days. On a charge of striking a parked car in the unit block on Pine Street, she was fined $25 plus $50 costs and must make restitution of $883.71 to Tamaqua Borough. Hanzarik was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Joseph David.

Mary J. Ford, 25, of 426 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, on a identify theft charge was assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours community service. Ford was cited by Tamaqua Cpl. Henry Woods, who charged she used the name of Shaina Hodge, 132 N. Greenwood St., and and her cell phone to create an account

Rose Fredericks, 38, of 180 Claremont Avenue, Tamaqua R.D., on a charge of resisting arrest, was assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours community service. She was cited by Rush Townshp Patrolman Peter Wysochansky.

William Allen Wetzel, 61, of 47 Wayne Road, Tamaqua R.D., on a DUI charge was assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $50 to MCare, $25 to EMS, attend safety school, undergo outpatient substance abuse treatment, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days. Elisah Ann Wonsack, 27, of 416 Center Avenue, Jim Thorpe, on a DUI charge was assesssed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $50 to MCare, $25 to EMS, attend safety school, receive outpatient substance abuse treatment, perform 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days.
