An armed robber is being sought in Luzerne County. State police at Hazleton said the robbery occurred about 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at the PNC branch bank on Susquehanna Blvd. (SR93), in Hazle Township.

Troopers said the manager of the Turkey Hill, located along SR93 at Airport Road, was making a deposit about a mile south of the market.

When she exited her vehicle to make the deposit she was confronted by a male in a hooded sweat shirt who had on a mask.

He shot her in the face with a BB gun. He then demanded the money.

The woman fell to the ground and the assailant took the deposit and he shot her again, this time in the back of the head.

The suspect fled with the money to an adjacent storage unit business where he had a white Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), possibly a Dodge, parked.

The victim pursued him to the storage unit lot at which time the suspect got into the SUV and fled north on 93. The victim lost sight of the vehicle at the Laurel Mall.

The male was wearing jeans, troopers said. The hooded sweat shirt had "GAP" across the chest. The suspect also had some under layers of light colored shirts on as well. He is believed to be a white male.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 459-3890.
