St. Paul Lutheran

The Rev. Carl Schweitzer, a retired pastor, from Lehighton will lead the worship service on Sunday, Nov. 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill. He will deliver the sermon during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

Confirmation class is held each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at St. John Church, Lansford.

The Sunday school class is collecting boxes of tissues to be delivered to the nursing home residents during its visit in December.

The church's Sunday school class/youth group recently enjoyed a trip to Bear Rock Junction in Lehigh County, where they participated in a hayride and made their way through its corn maze. Participants included Alexis Berger, Rebecca Jones, Abbey Vermillion, Julia Romankow, Natalie Vermillion, Bradley Hood, Max Vermillion, Stephen Hood, Alex Romankow, Cassandra Diefer, Austin Miller, Joshua Faenza and Caydense Smith.

Nesquehoning

Bike giveaway

A free Chinese Auction will be held at Nesquehoning Borough Council chambers on Saturday from 9-11 a.m.

The prizes will be various bikes that have accumulated at the police station. The auction is for the children of Nesquehoning. All bikes will be auctioned as is and parents must be present to sign a release form.

Coaldale

Harvest Home

Morning Worship at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, is the deadline to donate nonperishable food items for the Harvest Home table at First Congregational Church, Coaldale. All contributions must be in place by 10 a.m. Sunday. Food items as well as monetary donations will be appreciated and distributed to need persons in the area.

A Thanksgiving Eve worship service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23. Choir rehearsal will follow the service.

Sunday, Nov. 27, is the First Sunday of Advent. Morning Worship will be held at 9 a.m., followed by Sunday School at 10 a.m. Orders for Christmas poinsettias will be accepted until Sunday. Dec. 4.
