Eldred Township supervisor Gretchen Gannon-Petit has been instrumental in organizing an Electronic Recycling Day for residents. It is to be held on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Eldred Twp. municipal building.
A truck will be on site from Advanced Green Solutions, Walnutport.
Fees apply to certain items for the recycling cost of hazardous or data sensitive material but have been reduced by 1/2 for Eldred residents and the township will not be incurring any costs or profits.
Items accepted with a fee: stereos and speakers; printers/fax machines; small appliances; DVD players, VCRs, microwaves; desktop/laptop computers; LCD monitors; hard drive destruct. w/cert; alkaline and lead acid batteries; lithium batteries; non PCB ballast; computer monitors; dehumidifiers; floor copiers; washers and dryers; dishwashers; stoves; air conditioners; televisions; floor freezers; refrigerators; straight lamps; U Tubes, circular lamps, compact lamps; shattershields/coated lamps; halogen and incandescent lamps.
Items accepted without a fee: telephones; cell phones; bundled cardboard; keyboards; computer mice; cables and cords.
