Carbon County voters elected a variety of newcomers to join incumbents on borough councils in Tuesday's general election. According to unofficial results, the tallies were as follows:

LANSFORD:

Voters opted for no changes to council, electing incumbents for another four years.

Top vote-getter was Republican Tommy J. Vadyak with 381 votes, followed by Democrat Mary Kruczek with 368 votes. Democrat Rose Mary Cannon received 364 votes and Republican Andrew Snyder, 323. There were 40 write-in votes, which have yet to be tallied.

SUMMIT HILL:

Voters elected people to five 4-year terms. Top vote-getter was Democrat Francis O'Gorman Jr, with 675 votes; Democratic incumbent Michael Kokinda II had 670; Democratic incumbent Michael Alabovitz, 607; Jesse Walck, who ran on both tickets, won 572 votes and Republican John J. Michalik, 538.

NESQUEHONING:

Elected to four 4-year terms were top vote-getters Democratic incumbent Mark W. Stromelo, 535 votes; Robert Marouchoc, 524; Democratic incumbent Frank Jacobs, 508; Democratic incumbent Donato DeMarco, 444. Trailing were Republican Richard Zabroski, 442 and Republican Michael Frey, 213 votes. Marouchak ran on both tickets. There were also 13 write-in votes, which have yet to be tallied.

Democrat Regina Kennedy was unopposed for constable with 642 votes.

LEHIGHTON:

Voters chose people for four 4-year terms and one 2-year term on council. Republican incumbent Darryl W. Arner had 566 votes; Republican incumbent Bessie Bauchspies, 480; Democratic incumbent Grant R. Hunsicker, 474; Republican John Kreitz, 427. Trailing was Republican Duane Dellecker, 362. There were also five write-in votes.

Hunsicker was unopposed for the 2-year term, with 509 votes. There were also four write-in votes.

PALMERTON:

Voters elected incumbents and one newcomer to three 4-year term and one 2-year term on council. Republican incumbent Terry Costenbader had 519 votes; Democratic newcomer Jerry Barbosa, 485 and Democratic incumbent Christopher Olivia, 471. There were also 15 write-in votes.

Democratic incumbent Randolph M. Gursky was unopposed for the 2-year term, with 531 votes. There were also three write-in votes.

JIM THORPE:

Three 4-year terms on council. Democrat Betsy Ahner, 861 votes; incumbent John T. McGuire, 855; and Democrat J. Frederick Krebs, 693. Republican Louise Hall trailed with 569 votes. McGuire ran on both tickets. There were also 21 write-in votes.

WEISSPORT:

Voters elected incumbents to the two open 4-year terms on council. Democrat Arland F. Moyer Sr, 51 votes, and Republican Susan Pywar, 38 votes. There were also four write-in votes.

Democrat Theresa Troutman was unopposed for tax collector with 58 votes.

PARRYVILLE:

Two 4-year terms were filled by incumbents. Republican Michael Grant, 63 votes, and Democrat Sharon J. Keiser, 52 votes. There was also one write-in vote.

BOWMANSTOWN:

Winning the three 4-year terms were Democrat Kara M. Scott, 142 votes; Republican Pamela J. Leiby, 123 and Republican Ernest W. Guldner, 89. Trailing was Republican Norman A. Engle Jr., with 86 votes.

BEAVER MEADOWS:

Three 4-year terms were filled by Democrats Anthony A. Rusnock, 162; Afred J. Mitcho, 147; and Richard W. Donald, 101. Trailing were Republicans Martha O. Steber, 97, and James G. Leonard, 77 votes. There were also three write-in votes.

Democrat Annette Annabel was unopposed for a 4-year term as auditor, with 158 votes. There were zero votes for the 6-year auditor seat.

EAST SIDE:

Winning four 4-year terms were Democrats Rudolph C. Schoch, 37; Helen Stockinger, 35 and John Marotta, 24. There were also 11 write-in votes.

There were zero votes to elect a constable.

WEATHERLY:

Elected to two 4-year terms were Democrat Joe Cyburt, 312 votes; Republican George E. Miller Jr., 302; and Democrat Celine Gerhart, 251. Republican Michael Malinics trailed with 152 votes. There were also three write-in votes.

Democrat Tom Connors won election to a 4-year term as mayor with 277 votes over Republican Joseph E. D'Andrea, who had 267 votes. There were also four write-in votes.
