A Tamaqua woman had two preliminary hearings scheduled before District Judge Steven Bayer this week, both on drug related charges.

Jamie L. Fritzinger, 31, of 322 Clarke St., Tamaqua, elected to waive both those hearings and will now face trial in Schuylkill County Court. Fritzinger was charged following Nov. 12, 2010 and May 13, 2011 incidents. In the earlier case, she was charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a felony count of criminal use of a communications facility and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges were filed by Tamaqua Patrolman Robert Minnick. In the May offense, she was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Those charges were filed by Tamaqua Patrolman Anthony Stanell.

Bail was set at $25,000 unsecured and ROR respectively.

Kyle Lechlitner, 26, of 212 N. 18th St., Pottsville, waived a hearing on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, restrictions on alcoholic beverages, driving at an unsafe speed and disregarding a traffic lane. The charges stem from a Sept. 10 incident and were filed by Rush Township Patrolman Scott Cramer.

He was released on his own recognizance.

John Correll, 24, of 108 S. Kennedy Dr., McAdoo, failed to appear for his hearing on charges of conspiracy to commit retail theft, making false statements to law enforcement and driving with a suspended/revoked operator's license. The charges were filed by Rush Township Patrolman Corey Herring following an Aug. 30 incident.

Michael Merenda, 57, of McAdoo, was bound over for court trial on charges of possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. He was charged by Kline Township Patrolman Kevin Ruby following a Sept. 26 incident.

He was released after posting $15,000 bail.

Paul Zuzo, 41, of 102 E. White Bear Dr., Summit Hill, waived a hearing on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license, driving with the wrong license classification, operating a vehicle without a valid inspection sticker, driving without a license, driving a motorcycle without the proper headgear, driving without proper eye protection, careless driving and reckless driving. He was charged by Rush Township Patrolman Peter Wysochansky after a July 31 incident.

He was released on his own recognizance.

Rashad Santiago, 22, of Bronx, N.Y., waived charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy to possess a controlled substance, providing false identification to law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia and intent to deliver drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from a Feb. 5, 2010 incident and were filed by McAdoo Patrolman Robert Minnich.

Santiago was returned to the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, after Judge Bayer increased his bail amount from $25,000 straight to $50,000 ten percent.

Richard M. Bonney, 32, of Hazle Township, waived a hearing on charges filed by Rush Township Patrolman Corey Herring. The charges include retail theft, receiving stolen property and driving with a suspended/revoked license stemming from an Oct. 12 incident.

He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

Bonney also waived a hearing on charges related to an Oct. 11 incident that were filed by Officer Herring. Those charges also include retail theft, receiving stolen property and driving with a suspended/revoked license.

Bail in that incident was changed from $25,000 percentage to $25,000 unsecured.
