A Jim Thorpe teen was jailed this week following an incident in the borough.

Borough police said on April 27 about 4:52 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Sixth and Center streets., for a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival two females stated they had been assaulted by one of the female's ex-boyfriend. One female had a swollen lip with a laceration and the other female complained of pain in her wrist.The person allegedly responsible was identified by the females as Jeffrey Allen Delong, 18, of 729 Mahoning St. He had left the scene before the arrival of police.A warrant was issued for his arrest charging him with simple assault and harassment. It was learned on the date of the incident Delong was on probation in Northumberland County. That county's probation office had a warrant issued for his arrest for a probation violation.On Thursday, May 12, Delong turned himself in to borough police. He was then placed in the county prison in Nesquehoning on the probation warrant.
